Solo exhibition of young artist Andrea Marcoccia, among the 20 winners of the first edition of the Premio ORA. The gallery will exhibit a selection of significant works of the artist and his research on the concept of space and place.

His paintings and drawings focus on the representation of real-world scenarios out of context and deprived of every trait, extremely detailed and well-kept - or otherwise - in stylized geometric shapes, but always made a stereotype of a general idea of "place".

The fundamental question is: in an era in which space, with its characteristics of continuity and temporality has prevailed in our imagination, we are still able to experience the place? In his landscapes taken out from reality and everyday life, Andrea Marcoccia we propose an investigation of ourselves outside of the situations and asks: what would happen if we were transported in an undefined and undefinable where it might be "sometime" and "somewhere"? Without the certainty of space and time, what other certainties remain?


He notes the curator Carolina Lio, in the text accompanying the exhibition: "It 's important to note that in the work of Marcoccia there are human beings, there are no references, no indication either spatial or temporal. Can beings imaginary places, interior places, where nothing interferes with the dialogue that we are called to create it ourselves. "
